Alfredo Vallellanes is Multiplication Network’s Global Coordinator of Mies Foundation Partnership and the U.S. Hispanics National Coordinator. He lives in Florida with his wife Yolanda. They have three grown children and are blessed to be grandparents.
Alfredo attended an evangelical church as a child but when he was 12, he distanced himself from the church. On May 25, 1980, when he was 16, he returned to church with the intention of catching up with his friends. “But that day, the pastor preached the Gospel in such a simple way,” Alfredo shares. “I approached the Lord and asked Him for the opportunity to live a purpose-driven life. My relationship with the Lord has been growing stronger every day.”
Alfredo quickly became involved in ministry. He was a leader of the youth group kids and later was a deacon in his church. He was involved in Christian television shows and radio programs in Puerto Rico. Alfredo co-founded Instituto Bíblico Escuela de Profetas and began a ministry to help Nicaraguan refugees in Honduras. For 10 years Alfredo traveled throughout the Caribbean and Central and South America sharing the Good News. He was a missionary in South America as well and has planted four churches.
As National Missions Director of Movimiento Defensores de la Fe, he was in charge of ministry in 18 countries. Alfredo was pastor of a church in Bayamón, Puerto Rico for 14 years. He eventually founded Bible League in Puerto Rico and served as one of their directors in the Caribbean and Central America. Later, he founded Mies (Harvest) Foundation with the vision to equip Christian workers with the Word of God.
Alfredo has written a few articles for a university journal in Puerto Rico. He also wrote part of the book Sembremos Iglesias Saludables and is the author of the book Grupos Pequeños Saludables and the Philippi Model of church planting. In 2000, the Lord prompted him to accompany Multiplication Network founder John Wagenveld in his vision of planting more churches and developing stronger churches. They worked together during the formation stages of Multiplication Network to prepare the teaching materials and create a solid ministry base. As the first Caribbean and U.S. Hispanics Hub Director, Alfredo led the team to create connections with other like-minded ministries and to encourage leaders in how to implement a plan of planting churches across their nations.
In January 2024, Alfredo passed on the role of hub director to José Alberto Almonte and assumed the new positions of the National Coordinator of U.S. Hispanics and the Global Coordinator of Mies Foundation Partnership with the goal of providing Scriptures to many of our church planters around the world.
