Hassan was greatly respected among his tribe. His grandmother was the Tatoga tribe's "prophet" and he was next in line. Even though he is only in his early twenties, he was being prepared to take on the responsibilities of a tribal leader.

Yusuph Emmanuel, Multiplication Network Ministries' Africa Database Administrator, visited Tanzania in early January 2015 and met Hassan. Yusuph shared the gospel with him and Hassan was astonished by what he heard. "I have been serving Satan my whole life!" he exclaimed. "I do not like it but I also don't know how I can set myself free. I need Jesus!"

Two weeks later, as a young Christian, Hassan is being persecuted for his new faith in Jesus. His family is threatening to disown him. A group of radicals in his tribe are trying to persuade him to renounce his faith.

When Yusuph asked him about it, Hassan said, "I am already seeing the Lord's goodness in all this. No matter what happens to me, I know where my hope and future lie."
