Magaly's Story - Ecuador

Multiplication Network Ministries (MNM) Founder and President Dr. John Wagenveld says,  'The Coronavirus COVID-19 pandemic is affecting us globally as national leaders in newly planted churches are having to find different ways of ministering in their communities.' Please note that all of MNM's leaders around the world have been cautioned to reduce exposure and be safe while following the regulations set by their countries' governments.

Magaly Tunqui lives in Sucúa, Ecuador. Her church encouraged her to receive the church planter training provided through you by Multiplication Network Ministries (MNM). She is currently working in the Shuar community of Ceipa, located half an hour from the city of Sucúa in eastern Ecuador.

Magaly began to work in this community because of the need for her people to know the truth of Christ.

“This is a community that has visitors from various religions such as Jehovah’s Witnesses and the Jesus Only Movement and that makes people very confused,” Magaly says.

Despite this challenge, Magaly says she has found courage in God to share the gospel with both children and adults. She has been able to tell them about the love of God and how God gave His Son so they can be saved.

Magaly began by sharing the Word of God with anyone who opened their door. Later her husband came to help. Since then she has not stopped sharing the gospel and has been able to see transformation in Ceipa. One change she witnessed was the gratitude of the community leader. The leader has expressed his gratitude and appreciation for all of the work they do with their mother church to reach this area.

Magaly believes this task has barely started because she knows the community is thirsty for the truth of Jesus Christ in the midst of many religious movements.

“I see they want more consistency and more spiritual support,” she says. Magaly believes it is a great opportunity to continue sharing and affirming in the ways of the Lord the community of Ceipa.

“God has told me that it is the perseverance and constancy of the true Word that will win the community. We want to form disciples full of the Holy Spirit, to train workers filled with the Holy Spirit, so they can have the certainty of salvation.”
