Setting Aside Insecurities

"I was scared because I can't write or even read. I told myself there were people more prepared than me," confesses Olinda.

Olinda lives in Coatepequl, Guatemala and was invited by the pastors of her church invited to be part of Multiplication Network Ministries' (MNM) church planting program. At first she resisted. She told them she was sure it was impossible for her to be a part of that on account that she cannot read or write. "They told me God did not look at our grades but instead at the intentions that everyone has to serve Him and work for Him."

Then Olinda remembered her prayer to the Lord in which she asked Him for a way to be able to reach her family for Christ. This training was the answer to her prayers! Did she have the courage to accept it?

With great courage, Olinda set aside her insecurities and put herself into God's hands to be used as He wanted.

In MNM's training, Olinda learned how to share the Word of God with others and how to make discipleship groups. Wielding this knowledge, she visited a neighborhood that welcomed her and asked her why she was visiting. Olinda told them about her goal of planting a church in the area.

"They told me this was excellent news because no one in the community was concerned about doing something like that," Olinda shares excitedly. They offered to help her with what she needed and this positive response surprised and motivated her.

"I could see the people were interested in the Word of God, but there was no one to share it or teach it to them," Olinda says. From that moment, her fears and insecurities left her and she has plans to return there soon to begin a Bible study. With tears in her eyes, Olinda shares how grateful she is that God answered her prayer and is using her to share the gospel with others.
