Sergio Gallegos is the pastor of the Central Baptist Church in Sonora, Mexico. He thought he knew all there was to know about church planting but he attended a seminar with Multiplication Network Ministries (MNM) and was encouraged by what he learned there.

"Before I believed I could do it and now I am sure I can and we will!" he shares. With this introduction to church planting, Sergio learned the importance of training others in order to have the best impact on the mission to share the gospel and establish churches as outposts of the Kingdom.

Gerardo Ortega and his wife Josefina have been working in Sonora for some time and attended the MNM seminar as well. "The course was very constructive and it made me excited to continue onward,” says Gerardo. “Now I don't want to just be a pastor of a church—I want to prepare my people and motivate them so they can do the same work!"

Josefina adds that the tools introduced by MNM are a great blessing. Inspired by what they learned, she shares, "We hope our church can be a mother church that produces others.”

Sergio reflects on the multiplication vision and says, "It motivates us to know we are not just adding but multiplying. We cannot stay still. Thank God for this opportunity and I commend the people who had the idea to help us."

The three church planters hope to continue with MNM’s training process not just to learn but to in turn train future church planters. "I am motivated to make the church uncomfortable with the status quo so they are encouraged and become church planters with the end goal of advancing the gospel,” Sergio says.
