Roberto's Story

Roberto Mairena is currently the pastor of Concilio General Church with the Assemblies of God in Uruguay. Roberto has been a pastor for 46 years and also served as a superintendent for his denomination. Currently, he is charge of promoting church planting in his country.

Roberto shares that Uruguay has been more atheist and secularized than in the past and it seems the Church is not growing consistently. He and the Assemblies of God have seen how the programs through Multiplication Network Ministries (MNM) have been effective and they are going to use this methodology to change the Uruguayan society through church planting.

The plan? Make pastors aware of the need for more churches. The goal? Help them adopt the vision of planting churches and impacting society.

“It is not easy to share the gospel but we have noted there is a spiritual openness that is growing and we are working to take advantage of this,” Roberto shares. “Our goal is to present the gospel in a personal way and then provide discipleship to accompany new believers in their spiritual growth. This is working.”

In the process so far, Roberto recognizes that MNM’s material is excellent and comprehensive, especially in the structure of the methods and the strategies. He believes MNM is a method God has inspired for this newest generation. “The Lord is coming and there is no time to lose,” Roberto says.
