Ricardo's Story

When Ricardo González was invited to participate in the church planter training with Multiplication Network Ministries (MNM), he said yes without much hesitation. One of his principal motivations for accepting was because he believed it was an answer to a need he saw—the people needed forgiveness. Ricardo knew only God could change them forever.

In MNM’s church planter program, Ricardo learned to determine the specific needs in Omar, El Salvador where he is working. He sees how he can teach others to do the same so they can approach people with the gospel. "The training has helped me to realize that I have to prepare myself in order to teach others and this way they can educate others who can do the same,” Ricardo shares. He has learned the power of multiplication!

The prevalence of gangs in El Salvador has been a challenge for Ricardo. He has to be careful of which neighborhoods he enters. There has also been some opposition from those how are committed to their traditional religion or those who have no interest in God, but Ricardo is determined. He knows God has called him to church planting and he continues on despite the obstacles.

Ricardo is encouraged by the change he has seen in a few people of the community. "One of them was pretty involved in the gangs and God delivered him from there and now he is involved with the church,” Ricardo shares. “My dream is that the church can meet together and teach others about God."
