María Mendoza is a church planter with the Church of God of Prophecy in Belize. Two years ago, she began the work of planting a church in the community of Mortumaro. She has to walk a little more than a mile to reach the area but her love for the people who live here and her desire to reach them with the Good News has motivated her to visit consistently. 

“So far we have gathered 12 adults and several children but we trust in the Lord that growth would increase in this area,” María shares. 

She has faced many challenges while working in this community. “I know the enemy does not want us to do the work we are doing and is always going to make it difficult but here we move forward,” María says determinedly.

María has had some push back from the mayor and commissioners but thankfully they have always let her hold meetings. She is struggling with her health and even was sideswiped by a car. “But God always gives us strength to continue,” she says. “I give thanks to God because I have learned a lot in Multiplication Network Ministries’ trainings. In every training I take courage because I can see the love of my brothers and sisters who are also doing the same work as me.”

She asks for prayers for her health and for her husband to be drawn into the work as well so they can work together.
