José's Story

Pastor José Campos de la Fuente has been working to plant a church in Cunduacán, Mexico. He shares, “The church planter training with Multiplication Network Ministries (MNM) has helped us because we are seeing the work in a different way and the evangelism work is more practical because we go out to the people.”

José says that one way he gains the trust of the people is to meet them where they are – he helps meet some of their economic needs and through that he is able to share the gospel. The people feel more comfortable, more trusting, and can make a decision for Christ.

However, a daily struggle José has is that most people are committed to their own religion. When they see him, they defend their religious positions. “But we come and present the gospel and the people begin to realize it is not a religion like they have,” José says. It is a relationship with a God who deeply loves them.

One family José met had at first been resistant to hearing the Word of God. But God opened their hearts. “We arrived at this home and the whole family came out and put a circle of chairs around us and listened to us attentively. In that moment, five people of the family made the decision for Christ.”
