Pēteris lives in Latvia and learned about Multiplication Network’s church planter training through Facebook. “When I first heard about it, I prayed to God to see if this was what He wanted for my life,” Pēteris recalls. “I concluded that there could be no harm in going and learning something new and it was something I wanted to learn more about.”

Throughout the training, Pēteris noticed that he was learning not only about planting churches but how to view his own faith. “This training helped me to realize that I have to let God grow my faith,” Pēteris says. “God gives a specific calling to everyone and I need Him to help me discern the direction of my life.”

Pēteris also came to appreciate the effort it takes to reach people in his community. “In order to serve someone, I have to adapt,” Pēteris explains. “I can’t go in with my own opinions and force people to understand them. I have to understand what kind of environment they are in in order to serve them well.”

The training has allowed Pēteris to hear God’s call on his life and taught him that the work of starting a church begins small. “We can reach people by starting with small things such as discipling one person. It doesn’t have to start with a big church. You can teach one person and that person and go and teach others. That is how the Kingdom of God continues to grow.”
