Discovering a True Home

Socio Viviendo has become a home for many who did not have one. The people have moved here to try to make a new life. This community in Guayaquil, Ecuador is characterized by hopelessness and distrust. Church planter Enrique says it is not easy for him to share the gospel with them because several people have been hurt and even fallen into religious sects. Those negative experiences make them wary of what he wants to share.

But Enrique is not discouraged and continues to pray for the people in this area. “I know God is the one who persuades people and changes hearts, and if He is before me, they will come close to Him.”

Enrique felt the passion to share the gospel since he met Christ. Even when he did not think he was ready, God allowed him to participate in Multiplication Network Ministries’ (MNM) training to be a church planter.

“I felt God confirmed my calling through the training and I discovered that being a fisher of men is important in the life of a believer and a church,” he says.

“Because they see that the Lord is with us, the people come close and see how Jesus can bring about changes in their lives.” Enrique continues, “This has allowed their families to see a difference in them, which leads them to join us so they can see that what we speak and that the gospel is true.”

Enrique loves to see how God’s faithfulness has allowed the community to open their doors to His Word and salvation.
